These transactional emails are used to communicate the current status of a pre-order and are not editable or customisable.
All emails appear to be from: [Your brand name] via Purple Dot
All emails reply-to address is: as per the Email settings in your Purple Dot dashboard
Primary Emails
These are the most common emails sent to shoppers during the pre-order journey. Some emails may have dynamic text based on the nature of the pre-order and your store settings (e.g. when you collect payment from the shopper).
Pre-order Confirmation
Purpose: Provide a receipt of the pre-order
Trigger: When pre-order has been placed
Ready To Ship
Purpose: Update the shopper on progress towards receiving their pre-order and notify them of payment being taken, if applicable
Trigger: When a pre-order shipment is released for fulfilment
New Estimated Shipping Date
Purpose: Update shoppers on changes to the delivery timeline, ensuring FTC compliance
Trigger: When estimated ship dates are amended in the Waitlist
Cancelation
Purpose: Provide a receipt of the cancelation and refund, if applicable
Trigger: When pre-order has been canceled
CSAT Survey
Purpose: Measure pre-order satisfaction and collect shopper feedback. This data is accessible within the Purple Dot dashboard.
Trigger: Once delivery of the pre-order has been completed
Additional emails
These are less common emails that shoppers may receive depending on the nature of their pre-order, your specific store settings or actions the shoppers take during the pre-order window.
Shipping Details Updated
Purpose: Receipt of changes to their shipping address
Trigger: When the shipping address of a pre-order is updated
Refund
Purpose: Receipt of a refund
Trigger: When a refund is issued to the shopper
Upcoming Payment Reminder
Purpose: Reduce payment failures for merchants who charge on fulfilment
Trigger: A short while before the earliest estimated ship date of the next shipment coming up
Payment Failed
Purpose: Remind shoppers to update their payment method to avoid cancelation
Trigger: When pre-order payment has failed
Abandoned Cart #1
Purpose: Increase pre-order checkout conversion
Trigger: The shopper has abandoned their cart and at least 30 minutes have passed.
Abandoned Cart #2
Purpose: Increase pre-order checkout conversion
Trigger: 24 hours after the first abandoned cart, if the shopper hasn't placed an order.
Complete Your Pre-order
Purpose: Inform shoppers that payment is required to complete a drafted pre-order
Trigger: Draft pre-order created for a shopper within Purple Dot
Shipping Dates Reminder
Purpose: Remind shoppers of the estimated shipping dates on long-lead time pre-orders.
Trigger: Half way between pre-order purchase date and the earliest estimated ship date.
Note - this is only sent on pre-orders with a lead time >1 month.
Emails sent when doing price adjustment
These emails only apply when using Purple Dots price adjustment feature. Speak to us to learn more about this capability.
Price Adjustment #1
Purpose: Notify shopper that the price of their pre-order has increased and action is required
Trigger: Price adjustment (increase) created for a waitlist within Purple Dot
Price Adjustment #2
Purpose: Confirm receipt of the shopper accepting the price increase
Trigger: Shopper accepted the price increase
Price Adjustment #3
Purpose: Notify shopper that the price of their pre-order has decreased
Trigger: Price adjustment (decreases) created for a waitlist within Purple Dot
